Sidewalk Vendor Bylaw
The City approved a Sidewalk Vendor Bylaw which supports outdoor patios and vending.
The new Bylaw replaces the Open Streets Pilot Project by introducing specifications for storefront retail and patios and providing certainty by creating a long-term program through regulation. Open Streets was initiated in 2020 and extended to 2021 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. The project allowed retail and food and beverage services to extend outside through storefront vending and outdoor patios on private and public space.
